Hi BxL Students and Parents –
Yesterday the mayor and the chancellor announced that middle schools will reopen for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who are signed up for blended learning beginning on February 25th. However with this announcement there has been some confusion – Only students that signed up as BLENDED at the start of the school year AND turned in consent forms will be returning to the building. Blended students that did not return testing consent forms will be placed in fully remote learning.
At this time 85% of students at Bronx Latin middle school are signed up as FULLY REMOTE which means that the majority of Bronx Latin students will NOT be returning to the building and will continue to learn remotely. Again, if a student was signed up as fully remote this summer or fall they will NOT be returning to the building on Feb 25th and they will continue to learn online remotely as they have been all year.
If you are a parent of a student that is remote and wish to change your student to blended – please note the DOE has said that the deadline for that was in November and that a students preference cannot be changed from remote to blended. However if you are blended and with to continue remotely, you may make that change at any time.

Ayer, el alcalde y el rector anunciaron que las escuelas intermedias volverán a abrir para los estudiantes en los grados 6, 7 y 8 que se inscribieron en el aprendizaje combinado a partir del 25 de febrero. Sin embargo, con este anuncio ha habido cierta confusión: solo los estudiantes que se inscribieron como BLENDED al comienzo del año escolar Y entregaron los formularios de consentimiento regresarán al edificio. Los estudiantes combinados que no devolvieron los formularios de consentimiento para las pruebas se colocarán en aprendizaje completamente remoto.

Si usted es padre de un estudiante que se encuentra en un lugar remoto y desea cambiar a su estudiante a combinado, tenga en cuenta que el DOE ha dicho que la fecha límite para eso era en noviembre y que la preferencia de un estudiante no se puede cambiar de remoto a combinado. Sin embargo, si está combinado y desea continuar de forma remota, puede realizar ese cambio en cualquier momento.
